Canine Scholars is amazingly incredible! The two week board/training program was exactly what Finnley, my 3 year old male... Golden Retriever and myself needed.Chris and Jason and the team are fantastic! I was frustrated walking Finnley and quite honestly not enjoying our time together. Finnley would pull and bark and freak out when he saw squirrels. Sometimes I could not control him on his leash and would have to let go or lose my arm which was unsafe for everyone.I felt like a bad dog mom.Now Finnley walks nicely, doesn’t bark at other dogs, and we walk past squirrels without being pulled to the ground.I can take him places and enjoy our walks .It’s so wonderful .Canine Scholars are professional, trustworthy and knowledgeable.I always loved my sweet Finnley but they gave us a new leash on life😊read more

Jason is amazing! His understanding of how dogs learn and his ability to explain the reasons behind the training is great.... He takes a step-by-step approach that didn’t overwhelm us or the pup. When he’s with us it never feels like he’s “watching the clock” or rushing. He took all the time necessary for us und practice the lessons until we got it. Most importantly, the training is working. Every single staff member is wonderful, I knew our dog was safe, and his training has changed his quality of life so much! So much more freedom when walking on leash. This was our first experience using a dog trainer, and now I wonder why we’ve waited so long! My husband and I adopted a 9... month old rescue that was extremely fearful of all humans. He would bark and growl when people came into our home and I was scared it would eventually turn to aggression. Jason was awesome, he immediately took control and worked with Max and showed us how to correctly work with him. Each session we watched Max’s confidence grow, with the power of place (among other skills) we were able to have family and friends over and he could stay in his safe place. He used to freeze in fear in walks and now he heels beside us like a pro. We even trust him off leash, which I never expected. We cannot recommend Jason and canine scholars enough.read more

Jason is a great trainer who can quickly identify issues with the dog and the owner. Years ago, he helped us find solutions... so we could keep both of our dogs, who were aggressive towards one another at the time. More recently, he generously helped us identify the underlying issues that need to be addressed with our current dog. We've tried training with other people and have never been satisfied with the results. Jason has never disappointed us.read more
